Spence Wright, began his career in Scouting at Pack 317, chartered by Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Newton, NC. He transitioned to Boy Scouts with Troop 317, earning his Eagle Scout in 1985. He served on Staff at the 1985 National Jamboree and for two summers at Camp Bud Schiele as a merit badge counselor for Mammals, Environmental Science, and Nature. He reached Brotherhood Membership in the Order of the Arrow.
As an adult, he been a den leader for every level of Cub Scouting - Lions to Arrow of Light and currently serves at the Lion Den Guide and as an Assistant Scoutmaster.
Spence is a graduate of Bandys High School (class of 1988) and of UNC-Chapel Hill (class of 1993) where he graduated with degrees in Public Health (Environmental Science concentration), Biology, and Geology.
He is President of Sherrills Ford Optimist Club, where he also ran the Soccer Program for seven years.
Spence attends the Cove Church Denver Campus where he teaches Sunday School for 4-5 year olds.
